Tecno Mobile, a sub-branch of Hong Kong-based mobile manufacturer Transition Holdings, on Monday has arrived in with along with the launch of 5 new smartphones at an event in New Delhi. The company has introduced 5 new smartphones for the Indian market, which includes the Tecno i3 at Rs 7,990, Tecno i3 Pro at Rs 9,990, Tecno i5 at Rs 11,490, Tecno i5 Pro at Rs 12,990 and Tecno i7 at Rs 14,990.
Among the recently launched smartphones, the Tecno i7 will be available in India from early May, whereas, rest of the four smartphones will be available from Wednesday in Punjab, Friday in Rajasthan, and Saturday in Gujarat. Moreover, the company has offered all of the five smartphones in Champagne Gold, Sky Black, and Space Grey colour variants via offline retailers.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer states that the smartphones are ‘made for India’, which is also noticeable from the 'i' prefix in the names. Furthermore, the camera application of the smartphone also features an optimised algorithm tailored to the Indian skin tone. The smartphone is blessed with an 'anti-oil fingerprint sensor', which according to the company will allow users to unlock their smartphones without any worry regarding the "Indian lifestyle and weather conditions."
Other highlighting features of the smartphones include a Rocket Charging fast charging technology, which is claimed to reduce the charging time by up to 20 percent compared to the traditional charging methods and it's own HiOS custom Android ROM that is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and offers some interesting features like Smart Split-Screen.
The company also touts a 'Tecno 151 Promise' along with the handsets, which includes a 100-day replacement guarantee, 50 percent buyback, and 1-year one-time screen replacement, but will be available only for a limited time period.
Coming next to the specifications, The Tecno i7 Android smartphone is blessed with a 16-megapixel front camera along with screen flash as well as front LED flash, which is also said as a "night selfie camera". It also packs a 13-megapixel rear shooter with quad-LED flash. The handset is backed up by a massive 4000mAh battery along with Rocket charging facility and includes 4G VoLTE support as connectivity options on board.
Moreover, the Dual-SIM smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM. Moreover, it is blessed with a complete metallic build and includes a fingerprint scanner at the front embedded in the home button. The smartphone comes with 32GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be further expanded via microSD card.
Next in the list is Tecno i3 and Tecno i3 Pro, both the handsets are almost similar, the only difference, which makes the difference is the increased memory (3GB of RAM) and the availability of an anti-oil fingerprint sensor. The Tecno i3 GSM handset packs a 5-inch HD IPS display and packs 16GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. In term of optics, the smartphone is blessed with an 8-megapixel rear sensor along with an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfie enthusiasts. It is backed up by a 3050mAh battery along with 4G VoLTE support as connectivity option on the board. The specifications of Tecno i5 and Tecno i5 Pro are yet to be unveiled by the company.
