The Tizen Powered Smartphone: Samsung Z1 Launched at Rs. 5,700

After commencing a slew of smartphones into Galaxy series in span of few months, Samsung has launched its Tizen 2.3-running handset: Z1 in Indian marketplace. Along with a motto to shape the tech space with transformative ideas and to provide latest technologies at affordable value, South Korean giant has brought its novel quest at just Rs. 5,700.

The most highlighted part of mobile phone is inclusion of company's own operating system: Tizen, which we have recently seen in Samsung Gear S smartwatch. Here, it's quite apparent that this firmware will reduce tech giant's dependency on Android platform. And, handheld directly stands against Google's Android One based devices, which had been dispatched in domestic space to capture the budget segment.

Commenting on the statement of Corporation's President and CEO, Mr. Hyun Chil Hong, “we have customized the Samsung Z1 to meet with unique, entertainment-focused needs of local Indian consumers for a personal and reliable mobile experience.”

Diving into this newly-launched phone, its Linux-based OS has been boasted to render a faster boot time, quick access to apps and enhanced web performance. Notably, gadget is also equipped with some alluring attributes such as built-in SOS alert system, private mode option along with built-in AntiVirus protection.

Samsung Z1

Talking about internal hardwares, mobile phone is integrated with a 1.2GHz dual core processor and fueled by a 1500mAh battery. Here, its battery delivers 7 hours of video playback and 8 hours of talk time as well as an 'Ultra Power Saving Mode' feature has been provided, whereby users can stay connected with smartphone at a minimal level of battery.

On connectivity front, device assimilates 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth v4.1 options. Glancing at display, it bears a 4-inch WVGA PLS display, which confers a pixel resolution of 480x800p.Touching the subject of imaging, previously-rumored as Samsung Kiran: Z1 is outfitted with 3.1-megapixel rear camera alongside a 0.3-megapixel selfie snapper. Additionally, it incorporates some captivating camera features such as Dream shot and auto face detect. 

Memory-wise, handset is arrayed with 768MB RAM along with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. Moreover, handheld measures 120.4x63.2x9.7mm dimension and a weighing of 112 grams. As per Samsung Mobile Press, prospective buyers can purchase smartphone from January 14 as well as can choose among Black, White and Wine Red color variants.
