To Wow Android Users, Nokia Brings Z Launcher App

Nokia's independent division which is not a part of Microsoft has come up with a new Android launcher app, dubbed Z Launcher. The app is a pre-beta release and available on Z Launcher website only to download.

This app is compatible with devices which run on Android 4.1 or higher version. It is not perfect for Android tablets. Recently the app has been going under testing on Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 and Google Nexus 5.

To download the app, users need to sign up first with their Google account. The app allows you to search anything, stored in your smartphone by typing a letter directly on the launcher screen. This feature is called as Scribble. Simply draw any letter on the screen and find the related app, task or contact.

Using this app, users can see the time, date and one of the upcoming calendar events at top of the home screen. Like all other Android features, tapping on any one option on top will open the particular app.

Brook Eaton, Lead Product Manager on Z Launcher wrote in Launcher's blog, "We're releasing the first version of Z Launcher with a limited number of downloads initially, to see how it works and learn from your feedback. In the next few months we'll provide updates on new versions, features and availability."
