Xiaomi Confirms May 10 Launch Date for Mi Max Phablet

Xiaomi has begun teasing its upcoming Mi Max phablet and has also affirmed that it will be uncovered on May 10. In a Weibo post, Xiaomi declared that the Mi Max will be launched at an occasion at the Beijing National Convention Center and tickets for the same event are currently available for purchase for enthusiastic Mi fans.

In a different Weibo post, Xiaomi also showcased the world first look of the upcoming Mi Max smartphone. The top front board of the Android handset was partially uncovered online in the shared picture.

Recently leaked image of the unannounced Xiaomi Max phablet demonstrated it to sport a similar design as was observed on the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 5. The phablet looks way too similar on both the front side and the back side with respect to Mi 5 as the phablet too sports a home button on the front panel expected of integrating a fingerprint sensor, and the rear camera setup again looked identical.

The moniker 'Xiaomi Max' came first time in the limelight when the company started surveying amongst its users as to what ought to be the name of its next handset. Out of all the available options, the name 'Xiaomi Max' got the highest percentage of votes.

Ahead of the May 10 launch event, the handset got spotted in a GFXBench listing giving a sneak peak into the rumored specs of the GSM-handset. As per the GFXBench listing, the Mi Max will highlight an enormous 6.4-inch full-HD display powered by hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor. The handset offers 2GB of RAM and is equipped with16GB of storage capacity. The device further sports 16-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Other than this, Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun too got spotted wearing a smart band, which again is rumored to be the Mi Band 2. As per the leaked image, Jun is seen wearing a smart band highlighting its display. As per reports, the upcoming Mi Bands would majorly focus on smaller displays and would be less dependent on smartphones and other connected gadgets. The report also focused majorly on the fact that from now on the Mi Band highlighting factor would be its display and that it would showcase something of that level that had never been seen before.
