After keeping its users on a long wait, Chinese company Xiaomi's Indian outlet Xiaomi India has finally taken off wraps over the Black variant of its flagship product Xiaomi Mi 5 in the country now available for purchase for INR 24,999 via both the Amazon India as well as the Flipkart.
One must not forget that the company officially launched the Android smartphone back in March and at the time of launching, the product was available only in a single color variant i.e, White, but now even Black is available for purchase. Secondly, despite having several variants with different specs, the company brought only one variant to India featuring 3GB RAM coupled with 32 GB of memory storage and there is still a lot of confusion whether Indian buyers would actually get to see other variants or not.
Not just White and Black, the company had also promised a 'Gold' color variant of the GSM-handset for the Indian consumers, but it still isn't sure as to when would the product get launched. Additionally, to reach a wider audience, the company decided to remove the restriction of purchasing the product only from the official website and made it available on other Indian e-commerce websites namely Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Tata Cliq.

Even Hugo Barra - Xiaomi Global Vice President confirmed last month in a press that the company is working furiously to bring a Black variant of the product to India soon and it looks like that the company surely kept its promise.
As far as the specifications of the product are concerned, the Dual-SIM Xiaomi Mi 5 supports Nano SIM's and sports a 5.15-inch full HD display with curved 3D Ceramic glass giving a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a pixel density of 428ppi.
The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and comes equipped with 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus), OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support protected by Sapphire lens. The rear camera gets additional support from the presence of a 4-megapixel camera on the front end with 2-micron pixels. Both the cameras feature a f/2.0 aperture and the rear camera too supports 4K video recording.
On the dimension front, the device measures 144.5x69.2x7.25mm and carries a weight of just 129 grams that makes it lighter then Moto X Play which carries a weight of 169grams. The device houses a 3000mAh battery and comes with a support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technique. The company has always been claiming that the Quick Charge 3.0 is 20 percent faster than the previous Quick Charge 2.0.
Last but not the least, in terms of connectivity, the users get VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac, 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, Glonass, and NFC as well as a USB Type-C port.
