Xiaomi Mi 7 To Come With under Display Fingerprint Sensor Confirms Lei Jun

Xiaomi is one of the renowned Chinese smartphone manufacturer company which recently unveiled Mi Mix 2S, particularly in China. Full- Screen Displays along with 18:9 aspect ratio and notch on top-of-the -display has been trending these days in the smartphone industry.

It is sure that under- display fingerprint sensor would be one of the trends in the smartphone industry for 2018. Some of the major players have started offering an under-display fingerprint scanner technology in their smartphone and some are working on it. After the unveiling of Vivo X20, X21 UD, and Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS, though it is speculated that a handful of flagship smartphones are likely to come with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

It seems that now the Xiaomi is working on its next flagship smartphone which is likely to be dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 7, though we don’t know more information about the smartphone regarding its design, price, launch date and availability. The design of an upcoming smartphone has surfaced on the internet which reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 7 could feature an under-display fingerprint scanner. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi recently confirmed the feature in its Weibo comment.

The teardown photos of Mi Mix 2S has been posted by the Chinese company in its official Weibo account. In a comment section, one of the users jokingly posted that Mi 7 could come with an under- display fingerprint scanner in which the CEO of Xiaomi has confirmed in a reply section it will surely come with an in- display fingerprint sensor.

To be speaking honestly, the whole conservation was casual which reveals the leaked specifications of the smartphone that demonstrate full-screen display on the front, vertically stacked dual- rear camera and physical fingerprint sensor is missing on it.

The render specifications of Mi 7 was previously leaked in the month of January ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 which suggested that the smartphone would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 5.65-inch screen and notch on the top of the display. The leak reports also suggest that it come with a dual 16-megapixel rear cameras offering AI capabilities and optical zoom functionality. It seems that the Mi 7 could be fueled by a 3,400mAh battery along with wireless charging technology.

Apart from Xiaomi Mi 7, rumors regarding Mi 7 Plus also appearing on the internet and it is codenamed with Ursa. The rumor reports suggested that it could come with an under-display fingerprint sensor and an advanced facial recognition feature. It is speculated that it could feature a Snapdragon 845 SoC, dual-rear cameras and a 4,000mAh battery.
