Xiaomi Redmi 5 Likely to Launch on 14th March in India

Mi TV 4A 32 inch and 43-inch models have been launched by Xiaomi in 7th of March 2018 in India. At the end of the launch event, the Chinese Electronics Company has put out teaser video regarding the launch of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone which is likely to be unveiled on 14th March in India. However, the Chinese electronics company has not provided information that which smartphone will be unveiled in India later this month. The rumors are suggesting that the company is planning to launch Xiaomi Redmi 5 in India sometime later this month. The teaser video demonstrating the side profile of the smartphone and it looks similar to recently launched Redmi Note 5.

The name of Redmi 5 Plus is remodified with Redmi Note 5 in India and is launched at a price of Rs 9,999 in the month of February in the previous year. The upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 5 is the successor of Redmi 4. It is expected that Xiaomi Redmi 5 could be launched at a price of Rs. 7,999.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a metal unibody design along with rounded corners and supports dual- sim. The smartphone boasts a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels along with 18:9 aspect ratio display that means the smartphone has a bezel-less display similar to Redmi Note 5. Xiaomi Redmi 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 450 which is clocked at 1.8GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. In China, Redmi 5 is available in two storage variants 2GB of RAM coupled with 16GB internal storage and 3Gb of RAM coupled with 32GB internal storage. It is anticipated in India the company will offer both variants.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 sport a 12-megapixel rear camera that comes with features such as a f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash. At the front, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel selfie- camera coupled with a "soft-light" flash module. The front camera is said to feature a Xiaomi's proprietary Beautify 3.0 capabilities. The smartphone packs a 3300mAh. The weight of the phone is 157 grams and its dimensions are 151.8x72.8x7.7mm. Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be available in four color options: Gold, Light Blue, Rose Gold, and Black.
