At an event in New Delhi, Xiaomi launched Redmi 4 smartphone on 16 May (today) at a starting price of Rs. 6,999. The latest model launched by Mi is actually a variant of Xiaomi Redmi 4X and the name of the phone matches with Redmi 4. To recall, In China, Xiaomi Redmi 4X was launched in February this year.
The smartphone will be available from 23rd May at 12 pm IST at Amazon India and Mi.com. The smartphone will also available in Bengaluru-based shoppers (offline) from 20th May 9 am IST on Saturday. The pre- bookings of the smartphone begin from today and the booking amount is only Rs. 1,000. Users may pre-book the phone from Mi.com and get the Redmi 4 on the launch day from Mi Home. It guarantees that the mobile will be available at the Mi Home store - if it goes out of stock, an F-Code will be provided for redemption on Mi.com.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 is available in three storage capacity variants, i.e., 2GB RAM/ 16GB, 3GB RAM/ 32GB, 4GB RAM/ 64GB and has been priced at Rs. 6,999, Rs 8,999, and Rs. 10,999 respectively. The storage capacity of the mobile phone is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
From the specifications front, dual sim Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. As per the teaser images, a Fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear side of the smartphone, sports full metal body and 2.5D curved glass display. The smartphone will be available in Matte Black and Elegant Gold colour variants. It comes with 5-inch 720p display along with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor.
In terms of optics, Redmi 4 sports 13-megapixel rear camera along with PDAF, LED Flash and f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture for the selfie and video lovers.
From the connectivity options, Redmi 4 include 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3.5mm audio jack Micro-USB with OTG. The smartphone weighs 150 grams and measures 139.2x 69.6.x8.6mm. It is packed by a 4100mAh removable battery.
