ZTE Launches ZTE Axon Max With 4140mAh Battery and 6-Inch Display

Chinese manufacturer, ZTE in October while introducing the Axon Mini and Axon Watch promised to bring its new premium smartphone, the Axon Max, to markets and keeping the promise the company officially launched the handset in China last week priced at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 28,600) via an e-commerce website. ZTE, besides the Axon Max, also announced its "Global VIP Passport" after sales service which offers features like secure data-backup, protection and restore services, handset repair and replacement, along with business travel service offering customers preferential ZTE rates on flights worldwide.

On the design fronts, though the new ZTE Axon Max is slimmer than other Axon handsets by 7.5 mm, but still it looks way too similar to its previous siblings as it sports the same Boeing 787 aircraft-grade aluminum-titanium alloy build featuring a fingerprint sensor at the rear side just below the rear camera. It also uses the FPC1025 touch fingerprint sensor and Precise Biometrics’ product for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile.

It is a dual-SIM ( both of which are Nano-SIM) smart phone that runs on MiFavor 3.5 UI based on Android Lollipop v5.1. It features a 6-inch full-HD screen with Amoled display and pixel density of 367 ppi. Under the hood, it comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, clubbed with Adreno 405 and 3GB RAM, which surprisingly is 1GB less than the original Axon and Axon Lux.

What makes this smart phone different from the other phones is the fact that it supports both India-based 4G TDD-LTE Band 40 and FDD-LTE Band 3 and possess regular connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type-C, and USB OTG connectivity. It is powered by a 4140mAh battery and also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 tech, which can charge the smartphone from 0 to 60 percent in a time span of just 30 minutes. It also includes AK4961 24-bit ADC for a better audio outcome. The users, for now, aren't given many choices as for now, its available only in a Gold colour variant.

Additionally, it comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), and 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Its internal storage is of 32GB, out of which only 20GB is user accessible as claimed by the reports. The inbuilt storage, however, is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card with a hybrid dual-SIM configuration where the second SIM card slot works as a microSD slot.
