Android Nougat 7.1.2 Public Beta Version Now Available To Pixel, Nexus Devices

On Monday, Google has released the public beta version of the Android 7.1.2 Nougat overhaul, which has the enhanced maintenance feature including system optimizations and a number of bug fixes. The latest Nougat update is being rolled out over-the-air (OTA) to compatible Pixel and Nexus devices, such as Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X and Nexus Player. It must be noted that the update is for gadgets enlisted in the Android Beta Program.

"Android 7.1.2 is an incremental maintenance release focused on refinements, so it includes a number of bug fixes and optimizations, along with a small number of enhancements for carriers and users," said Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, in a blog post. Interested users with compatible devices can try the public beta for Android 7.1.2 through the Android Beta Program.

Google has reported that all the eligible Nexus devices will receive the Android 7.1.2 Nougat public beta in the next few days via over-the-air updates. On the other hand, users that have devices registered with Android Beta Program can also download and flash the factory images or OTA update files manually.

The last and final release of the Android 7.1.2 Nougat is expected to be made available in two or three months. Same as the beta upgrade, the final discharge will be accessible to Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C gadgets. Sadly, Google doesn't appear to incorporate Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 gadgets in the eligible devices list for the most recent Android 7.1.2.
