Gmail Added Features to Notify Emails From Unencrypted Sources

As The Internet has become a major component of modern communication, the user safety has become a prime concern. From personal information to more classified details related to national security, robust security is crucial when it comes to the online exchange of information. In lieu to generate Internet safety concern among the users, Safer Internet Day (SID) is organized by Insafe in February, every year. The top technological firm has appreciated the initiative and has supported the cause with many lucrative offers. This year Google has taken a step forward to encourage Safer Internet day by announcing, that Google has added a feature that will notify its users about the Emails from unencrypted sources on Gmail.

The added feature on Gmail, will inform users about sent or received email that doesn't support TLS encryption and will be flagged with a tiny unlocked padlock icon. Clicking the padlock will bring up a dialog box warning the user that if their message contains confidential information they may advise their contact to use a different email provider for the encryption purposes.

In addition to this, Gmail will flag up email contacts whose identity can't be verified. Any emails from unauthenticated sources will have their profile photo replaced with a question mark, and although Google notes that not all emails flagged in this way will be dangerous, it's a good reminder to be extra careful. If you receive a message that claims to be from your bank, but has an unauthenticated sender, it's almost certainly malicious, and you should delete it immediately before it steals your money or your identity. The added feature is an addition to the previously announced 2GB free Drive storage, on safer internet day, to generate consciousness towards online safety.
