Hi, I am Portana to Help Android Users: A Ported Version of Cortana

A group of hackers, OrangeSec has recently pulled the rug out from feet, announcing a ported version of Microsoft’s voice assistant Cortana. Naming it as Portana, they have done the justice with this ported version which is claimed to develop for giving assistance on Android devices.

Microsoft is thinking to bring its personal voice assistant on other platforms as a separate app meanwhile a group of hackers from Italy did this. They have created this by taking off Cortana’s backend. It we go with the name, then it’s a ported Cortana-like voice assistant for Android, but it’s not. You can ask her question and can also get answered. But, it speaks only in Italian. It can’t even integrate with Android Apps. While Microsoft’s voice assistant for Windows Phone 8.1 devices has the capability to integrate with Windows Phone apps.

It can communicate with Microsoft’s server, but partially and doesn’t able to work offline. OrangeSec has just introduced as a concept for all those Cortana fans that are eagerly waiting for it on other platforms. Well, we hope that Redmond giant will bring its voice assistant on iOS and Android soon. You can check the video of Portana which was demoed at Droidcon 2015 as Cracking Cortana.
