India Holds Second Position On LinkedIn After US

The biggest professional networking website Linkedin, that is acquired by the Microsoft earlier in a cash deal has touched the mark of 100-million user in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC). As for the India-specific, it has the maximum 37 million members, which is the largest market in the region.

If we talk about the global market, India has got the fame with second-biggest market after the US, the senior officials from the company revealed.

According to the showcased data, it is found that the LinkedIn has doubled its member base in the Asian region from 50 million to 100 million in just two years. As for now, the region shows 22 percent of LinkedIn’s global active members over 450 million.

Even the prominent thought leaders are also active on this professional network as a LinkedIn influencers including, Piyush Gupta (Group CEO, DBS Bank), Hiroshi Mikitani (CEO, Rakuten Inc.), Tony Fernandes (Group CEO, AirAsia), Andrew Penn (CEO, Telstra), Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Chairman & Managing Director, Biocon) and Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India).

As for the other countries, the China currently holds a 23 million active members, while Australia has eight million members. The company also stated that its member base across Southeast Asia has also risen, hitting 18 million including six million in Indonesia, four million in the Philippines, three million in Malaysia, and one million in Singapore.

The local India-based companies such as Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, and Infosys are among the top five companies with a strong network of employees on LinkedIn.
