Microsoft will Shine with Sunrise, Acquired Best Calendar App

It seems like a new wave of acquisition has begun in the world. Every leading tech brand has been appeared in this market and trying to merge any of prominent names in the tech world with us. In this league, Microsoft has just acquired a most popular Calendar app Sunrise officially. However, the financial detail regarding this acquisition is not known yet and has not been provided by both the parties. Rumours are suggesting $100 million would be the money, Microsoft will spend on this deal to happen.

Founders of Sunrise, Pierre & Jeremy said on this, it's "just the beginning" of a new future which will definitely give this Calendar app more space and platform to expand its capability and functionality. The app will still be free to download from Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Desktop. The Redmond giant also made a video and posted on YouTube to inform about this deal that's become official.

Two months back, the Redmond juggernaut acquired a mail app Acompli which was compatible with both iOS and Android platform. Well, now this app has been rebranded by the Microsoft as Outlook app which has become one of the best for mailing purpose on iOS devices. It is said that this current deal will give the Redmond people a new way to merge the functionality of such successful app with universal apps for Windows 10. Corporate VP of Outlook and Office 365, Rajesh Jha said, "Today’s acquisition of Sunrise, our recent acquisition of Acompli and our new touch-optimized universal Office apps for Windows 10 all exemplify Microsoft’s ambition to rethink the productivity category."

So, it could be possible that we will see some more improvements or changes in Outlook also which may add the functionality of Sunrise app also. As the Sunrise Calendar app has everything; from organizing appointments, alerts, birthdays and event to set the Google Maps direction. It can manage birthdays and other details direct from Gmail and Facebook account. You can also plan trips and map the upcoming live performances with the help of this amazing application, thanks to its SongKick and TripIt integration which make it possible. Foursquare, Evernote and many others are also integrated there to make it a universal calendar app in all. So, considering it as a king of all calendar apps won’t be judgemental.
