Qualcomm Snapdragon 835-Powered Smartphones to Come in India Soon

Qualcomm, on Tuesday, launched its brand new Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630 mobile platforms on account of its Snapdragon Tech Day in Singapore. On the same day, the company also showcased its premium Snapdragon 835 SoC, which was launched at CES 2017 earlier this year.

Currently there are a total number of 5 Snapdragon 835 powered smartphones available globally including Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Xiaomi Mi 6, and Sharp Aqous R. Out of these all, only Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones are available in India, but they can only be seen powered by the Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC in the country. So, we are still unknown with the experience of using Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC till now.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors

Larry Paulson, VP and President, Qualcomm India, in a report confirmed that some smartphones along with Snapdragon 835 processor are launching soon in India, he said, “There are some smartphones with Snapdragon 835 set to launch in India but we don't want to steal the thunder of OEMs.”

The new chipset technology will arrive with a lot of advanced features such as Gigabit-class LTE modem support with downloading speed of up to 1GBps, Qualcomm Haven Security that supports full biometric suite, and Qualcomm Spectra 180 Camera ISP for smooth optical zoom and fast autofocus. Moreover, it also offers some advanced features such as Quick Charge 4.0, which can provide 5 hours of usage time in just 5 minutes of charging.

The new SoC made its debut along with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones, but unfortunately, the South Korean giant introduced the Exynos versions of its flagship smartphones in India. Keeping the user response and the importance of Indian market in mind, Xiaomi can be believed to introduce the Mi 6 flagship smartphone along with a Snapdragon 835 SoC in India. On the other hand, Sony is also expected to unveil the Snapdragon 835 based Xperia XZ premium in the country.
