Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge to Get Android 7.1.1 Update in January 2017

Samsung, the giant South Korean technology developing firm last month had rolled out the Beta version of Android Nougat for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users to test the update on their devices. Now, the techno giant has announced to deliver the final version of Android 7.1.1 update to use users, which will be rolled out via OTA in the first month of 2017.

The company has also confirmed in a statement to a user that it will not provide Android 7.0 update and will directly jump to 7.1.1 update for all devices together. For this, the company will discontinue the Android 7.0 update from 31 December midnight, which means from then, users will not be able to get that update under Beta program.

The company also thanked to the Beta program members for their quality response, which helped the developers of company to build up the final update version. Some of the changes, which the new update will come along includes new emojis that reflect gender equality, GIF support right from the keyboard, and app shortcuts from the home screen.

Some of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users, earlier this month also reported that they are recieving December security updates. The new update has been started rolling out in some selected countries including India.
