Samsung is Dominating over Apple in India

Every entrepreneur, most likely to find its way towards the India for the rapid growth of their company and to feel the most happening competition in the market. Like the big brands Apple and Samsung etc. tries to establishing their feets in the ground of Indian markets.

The main question arises over the days in the minds of the people that has Samsung taken a lead over the Apple in the Indian premium market? The answer to the above cited question makes us lead to research on the surveys of the selling ratio of both the company’s.

The South Korean major mobile company has revealed that it has attained the 50% share in the Indian premium phone market and at that time Apple starts to sale its new iPhone 6S devices in India. Director of Samsung India, Manu Sharma said that, the Company has seen a positive momentum over the last one year in its new launches such as S6 edge and the Note5 devices.

Sharma also added, “As per numbers provided by market research firm GfK, our market share in the Rs 30,000 and above category is 51% in value terms at the end of the September this year. This was about 36% till about a year ago”. The GFK figure here indicates that the Apple is trailing Samsung in the category with a share in the mid 40% range.

As according to the sources that the Samsung had been under the pressure since from the long time in the premium phone category. Because of the Apple introduced a new phone in the Indian market like 6S and 6S Plus, which made the Samsung to cut the prices of some variants of its S6 range of phones.

One of the analysts said that, “There are a number of research firms in the market, and many of them often have different market share figures. So, one cannot be 100% sure about these figures."

Sharma added in his statement that, “The festival season has shaped up well. We have seen a spurt in volumes." However, he did not disclose the exact sales volumes, citing "company policy."

Apart from this, Samsung had unveiled a new ‘On’ series of handsets by focusing towards youth. The smartphones of the On series would be sold only through the online channels at an price tag of Rs. 8,990 and Rs.10,990 the e-commerce website Flipkart.
