Samsung Launched a Unique Set of Fitness Tracking Devices And a Smart VR Headset

Samsung, a leading and well-known company in smart electronics appliances market, has launched a pair of smart fitness tracking devices including Gear Fit 2 band and a pair of IconX ear buds with a smart VR Headset at an event held in Delhi on August 11, 2016. The company has also announced the launching date of Galaxy Note 7 at the particular event. Galaxy Note 7 Android smartphone will be available from September 2, 2016, in the country priced at Rs. 59,990.

Samsung launched a smartwatch, which looks cool and is fueled with exciting features and a sleek design language. The Gear Fit 2 band comes with a 1.5-inch super AMOLED display which allows the user to easily check their workout status and other notifications. The smart band is fueled with sensors like 24/7 heart rate monitor, GPS, accelerometer, Gyrometer, Barometer and it accurately measures user activity indoors and outdoors as well. The display can be customized by various watch faces available on the app store.

Samsung Gear Fit 2

The band is blessed with a 4GB onboard memory and is water and dust resistant as well. The smart gadget runs on Tizen OS, which automatically tracks 15 different types of fitness activities such as running, cycling, rowing etc. The Gear Fit 2 also includes an inbuilt music player, phone notifications (call, message, calendar) along with preset reply function.

The smart band is compatible only with smartphones based on Android 4.4 OS and above with at least 1.5GB RAM. It is available in 3 color variants- Dark Grey, Blue and Pink and in 2 different sizes- small (for wrist size 125-170mm) and large (for wrist size 155-210 mm). The Gear Fit 2 will be available from the end of August 2016 across the country priced at Rs. 13,990.

Samsung Gear VR Headsets

The company launched an excellent VR headset which can take you in the world of your dreams completely. The new Gear VR headset, due to having USB Type-C and Micro USB ports is only compatible with higher range devices such as Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus smartphones. The New smart gadget includes sensors like Accelerometer, Gyrometer, Proximity sensors and provides 101 degrees of view.

The eye-catching thing about the Gear IconX is the capsule-shaped charging box. The earbuds get automatically switched on when took out of the charging case, there is no switch to turn the gadget on. There are no buttons on the body of the earbuds, they are occupied by a touch sensitive surface which covers almost 80% area of the gadget. The IconX is blessed with a 4GB internal memory so that you can either transfer songs into it and can use it as a Bluetooth headset too.

The device is a little packet full of technology and works only with the recently launched Android smartphones. Apple devices can not be connected with the smart earbuds. The battery life of the device pulls its leg down, as it includes a Three hour backup in standalone mode and a 1.5 hours battery backup while streaming audio. Still, the charging case helps the buds, having 315 mAh of battery, the charging box can charge the earbuds up to 2 times, which is barely enough for the day.
