Samsung Reportedly Working on Palm Reading Technology For Smartphones

Biometric authentication has been widely used by smartphone makers for the safety purpose. Keeping in mind the user requirements, android phone manufacturers are trying to come with an advanced technology. Samsung, likewise other smartphone manufacturers have applied various biometric authentication for safety purpose such as facial recognition on the Galaxy Note 8, iris scanning on the Galaxy S8 and most frequently used fingerprint sensor.

The South Korean Electronics company is currently researching on palm biometric reading technology. A patent has been filed by Samsung, palm biometric safety measure will help in scanning the palm lines of the users and also provide password hints, when the user forgets its password.

The new biometric safety technology will work on just by capturing the picture of the user\'s palm by using either rear or front camera. After scanning the individual palm lines of the user, palm reading technology will show the password hints to the users in case of forgotten the password. Additionally, it will also show different letters of the user\'s password which helps the user to remember the forgotten password. Biometric palm reading technology will be treated as an additional layer of security, as password recovery. According to Samsung patent technology, palm reading biometric authentication will not be used to make payments by using Samsung pay, neither for locking or unlocking the smartphone.

Now, it\'s time to see that whether the new technology would work or not. We are eagerly waiting that whether Samsung will implement the palm reading technology in its upcoming Smartphones like Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, which are anticipated to be disclosed at CES in January 2018.
