Sarahah app, an anonymous messaging apps which has been gaining all the attentions these days. This app has been created by Saudi developer ZainAlabdin Tawfiq., and has hit the ground on several social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. These days everyone is sharing their anonymous messages on social media platforms sent to them anonymously via Sarahah. Through this app, people are able to send anonymous messages to anyone. For sending messages to anyone, both the sender and the receiver must have their accounts or profile in Sarahah App. The biggest highlighting of the app is that the sender can send anonymous messages to anyone without revealing their identity.
According to the reports, it has been disclosed that so many people sending hatred or negative comments in Sarahah app and the people are blaming to the app for this type of activities. In fact, even without login people can visit your Sarahah profile and drop messages anonymously. When the user login their account, by default messages are still showing anonymously. From the receiver side, all unread messages will be shown in an inbox of the app. There is an option available for delete messages, flag messages and favorite messages to find them easily in future.
As per the BBC report, you would be amazed to know that the app is just a few months older and has been very popular only in few months. The app has been already favoured in regions like Saudi Arabia and Egypt. At Google Play store, 10,305 users have given 5- star ratings and 9,652 users have given 1- star rating which showing a 50- 50 ratio of user\'s opinion. The creators described it by saying “Sarahah helps people self-develop by receiving constructive anonymous feedback”.
However, Developers are working to fix the bugs and looking for the ways to improve the experience. There are several features available in Sarahah app such as blocking, removing the profile, users can turn off access for unauthorized users.
Under the settings head there is the only option available for logging out. For removing or deleting the account permanently on Sarahah app, you have to login to either on desktop or website version of messaging service and then go to settings to delete/ remove accounts. People who do not want to receive messages from a particular person, then there is a block option available. Once you have blocked a contact, he/ she will not be able to send you a message again. But, it will not be notified that the particular person has been blocked.
Sarahah app is not the first anonymous messaging app which is trending these days. There are several other applications available such as Yik Yak, Secret, and Whisper which are trying to fill this functions. Aforementioned apps are more focusing on social media as well as to make interactions publicly, whereas, Sarahah app is more focusing on anonymous messages and less on social media and also not reveals sender identity.
