The world’s most popular mobile messaging application, WhatsApp has announced a new feature. Now, instead of just photos and videos, you can update your text-based status in a colourful texture. This new feature will be available for iOS and android users. To post a text-based status, tap on the status icon then the text screen feature include three options like font, background colour, and emoji. To use this new feature, WhatsApp users will have to update the Whatsapp App on their smartphone.

After testing on a beta version of the App, the company has launched new updates, in which, users will be able to add colour, different fonts and background in the status section. This is similar to recent Facebook updates.
The company is also working on integrating Payment Service (UPI) in its messaging application. UPI which will be developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With this payment feature, users can initiate direct bank to bank UPI transfers from the chat application itself.
