1420 PS Ken Block Tuned Ford Mustang; Ready to Tremble the Track

Really, 1420 PS of power from a 1965 Ford Mustang!! Yeah, you heard it right, we are not making anyone here but this is not an ordinary Ford Mustang. We are talking about Ken Block specially tuned, the Hoonicorn V2 - a 1965 birth Ford Mustang which has customized to produce that thunder rumbling power of 1420 PS.

If you are an avid car stunt enthusiast, you must have caught that famous car drifter, Ken Block behind the steering wheel in many customized Ford cars. Mr. Block is a professional rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division which was earlier known as Monster World Rally Team. Recently, he was featured in Gymkhana 7 video doing zoombastics with his insane creature, first of its kind, the all wheel drive, 865 PS 1965 Ford Mustang, named the Hoonicorn.

But that was not enough for Mr. Block and what he did to that Hoonicorn was the output in form of a real meth-addicted Hercules on four wheels - a machine of dreams. This is the all wheel drive and carbon fibre bodied along with a lot of underhood maths, Ken Block and the team took the old one in possession and manifested it into something real crazy, the 1420 HP Hoonicorn V2. This time, it rightfully deserves the ‘Kill All Tyres’ badge.

What Mr. Block says about his hulkish creation, “When I say that this is the absolute most frightening thing I’ve ever driven, I’m not exaggerating. At all”.

It took two years to 1965 Ford Mustang to become ken Block’s utmost driving thrill, Hoonicorn V2. The car got a 6.7-litre Roush Yates powerhouse which is mated to the 6-speed transmission, also there is an added differential at the front, to transmit the power to all four wheels. But what has given it a power bump of 564 PS, which has almost equal to that of Nissan GTR produces, are two giant open turbos which are added to its Ford Racing V8 at the front.

Instead of the regular gasoline, the engine is fueled with the methanol which helps in extracting power output with emitting less heat. The twin turbo converts burnt methanol into something which ends in the fire coming out from the hood-existing dual exhaust.

Talking about the development of this ultimate machine Ken says, “We got approval for a new video concept using the Hoonicorn, but I needed more power for what I needed it to do”. He added, “So, I developed the concept for the general idea of what I wanted— two turbos sticking out the hood—and handed that over to my team
They came back with a functional way to make that happen and added methanol to get the setup to produce the power that I wanted”.
“We ended up with 1,400 horsepower! Ha, so they may have over delivered a bit—and I’m happy about that!”

We really can't hold our breath so long to watch this furious machine in real action, producing smokes in the air by killing off the tyre threads.
