With the Registration No. PSJ 697, Frame No. 22536 and Engine No. 580, 1938 Royal Enfield KX uses largest ever seen engine. This 1140cc, twin cylinder engine powers this 80-year-old motorcycle in association with a 4-speed gearbox. That is a gear handle, was introduced as a part of its makeover for shifting gears on demand.
In terms of riding comfort, the KX is among the rarest RE bikes survived till date. The time when it’s in demand, it could be on offer with a sidecar or the buyer had to opt for one. The motorcycle with this potential would be put on an auction at the starting price of 40 lakh.
The KX which was part of Royal Enfield portfolio containing 18 bikes during 1938 was on sale with a host of special features onboard including the Lucas 6 volt Magdyno lighting with black enamel finish and gold lining.

Furthermore, the top spec was on sale with detachable and interchangeable wheels. The RE KX was claimed to attain the top speed of 130 kmph and returning the fuel efficiency of 27 kmpl in the absence of sidecar.
The registration date for this 1938 Royal Enfield KX that packs 1,140cc engine is 7th June 1938. From this specific date to 1970s the motorcycle remained in its home country. Its ownership transferred to a new owner past 8 years ago. Since now, the motorcycle has undergone several restorations and also had been showcased at a private collection.
