200cc Plus Bike Segment Witnessed Massive Growth in Indian Market

The 200cc Plus motorcycle segment in India has seen the unveiling of numerous mighty newcomers in the last few months. The Australian motorcycle manufacturer KTM showed up a bit late in the part, while the Royal Enfield was already heating up the show with its extensive lineup of thumping cruisers. KTM has a total number of five motorcycles in this segment in the country starting up with KTM 200 Duke and going up to the KTM RC 390.

After that, Bajaj and Yamaha extended their 100cc plus lineup with the launch of Bajaj Dominor 400 and Yamaha FZ25, which were introduced as value for money offerings and the Indian biking enthusiast are now shown their interest in the 200cc plus bike segment.

According to SIAM, the consolidated numbers for Bajaj-KTM have increased in just double to 15,860 units in FY17 as compared to 7,057 units in FY16. Yamaha FZ25, the newest member in the segment has also shown a splendid performance and dispatched 3,584 units in the previous month.

Coming up to the king of the segment the Royal Enfield, which has registered selling a total number of 6,02,856 units in FY2016-17 as compared to 4,56,110 units sold in FY2015-16. Apart from this, the Eicher owned subsidiary is pulling up its socks for introducing its upcoming flagship the 750cc parallel-twin engined motorcycle dubbed as Interceptor. The upcoming beast has been spied a couple of times in India, and according to the spies images, the motorcycle is expected to come with a cafe racer skin.
