2016 Paris Motor Show: Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift Makes its Premiere

After getting spotted several times, the new Hyundai Grand i10 (Called as i10 in Europe) has finally made its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, media days of which have already been started, while the regular days will commence from tomorrow. The car is expected to be launched in the European market later this year followed by the India-bound variant in early next year. Currently available under the nameplate of the second generation, the new facelifted version has come with some stylish and contemporary design tweaks altogether with some new connectivity and safety features.

Starting with the exterior, the facelifted Grand i10 has secured the similar silhouette as of the outgoing model, however, features like new round LED daytime running lights and Cascading front grille make it slightly different from the earlier one. Besides, the front fascia of the car has also been dominated by a newly developed front bumper along with angular lines and boomerang-molded air damps integrated with fog lamp enclosures and chrome bezels.

The side profile of the unit is almost similar to the regular instead of the new side mirrors, a set of new 14-inch diamond shaped alloy wheels and redesigned side mouldings. Moving to the rear, it houses a new bumper equipped with a fresh black inlay and a pair of reflectors.

Inside, a more completed and balanced approach to the cabin has been done with new dual-tone interiors and updated upholstery over the dashboard. One interested owner can also choose interior on his own from blue and black across all the trims level. Further, the cabin also sports some amazing attributes such as a fresh 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation support, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Some other noteworthy stuff are - heated steering wheel, automotive air conditioning, front seat warmers, etc. For safety, the automaker has offered two new advanced features namely, a Lane Departure Warning system and a Front Collision Warning System.

Under the hood, the India-based model is expected to come up with the same powerhouse for both the petrol and diesel motors. Where the former is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa unit and a 1.1-litre three cylinder U2 VGT trim. When it comes to performance, it will generate 82 Bhp with 116 Nm and 70 Bhp with 163 Nm respectively. Both the engines are incorporated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, however, the petrol variants also get the choice of a 4-speed automatic transmission unit.
