2017 Kawasaki Z900 India Launch on March 25

Kawasaki is gearing up for the upcoming March 25 when the manufacturer will announce its 2017 updated lineup for the Indian market. Still playing cards close to the chest, Kawasaki has just hinted with “important for 2017 models”. Moreover, Kawasaki has not disclosed officially any name of the upcoming products yet. Though it is all new Kawasaki Z900 (unofficially named) for sure that will replace the Z800 which is one of the best-selling motorcycles from the manufacturer in India. There is also a news of two other products - new Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Z650 that will be launched alongside the Z900.

The newest Z900 was showcased at the Intermot motorcycle show in Germany and will be brought in India via CBU (Complete Built Unit) from Thailand. Kawasaki Z900 features a completely new design that is inspired from the Kawasaki Z1000.

The Z900 looks sharper and more aggressive than the model it will replace. It gets a new trellis frame and is also light in weight by 20 kg than the Z800. On the power-front, it will be fitted with a new 948cc in-line four mill which is a downsized version of the 1043cc motor from the Z1000. In Z900, the motor produces the maximum power of 125 PS along with the peak torque of 98.9 Nm. To reduce the power loss, the bike also received a new chain set and the gear ratios have also been revised for an overall smooth process.

To demonstrate the immense outputs, the Z900 is fitted with dual 300 mm disc brake upfront with four-piston Nissan callipers and a 250 mm rear disc mated to a single-piston calliper. Besides, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is standard to offer a confident ride regardless of the path. The Japanese manufacturer also claims that handling of the bike has also improved with the help of new chassis and reduced weight.

The new 2017 Kawasaki Z900 is expected to be around INR 1 lakh premium over the outgoing Z800.
