2017 Mercedes GLA Facelift Teased Prior to Detroit Motor Show

Mercedes has released a teaser silhouette image of 2017 GLA Class facelift which is set to make its global debut at Detroit Motor Show on this January 9. The teaser image highlights the front profile of the car mainly headlamps and grille.
In the mid last year, the German automaker released a roadmap of its lined-up products which were scheduled for their worldwide launch. Some of them have already been launched by the end of 2016, while the rest will see the sunlight by early or mid of this year. According to the Mercedes launch-guide, the facelift GLA class will go on sale in a couple of months.

Coming back to the teaser image, the facelift GLA features a new grille with twin black finish slats that hold three-pointed star emblem at the center. Headlamps have been slimmed with the minor tweaks and the front bumper flowing around the fog lamps further complements the fascia. Overall, these changes to the exteriors make the car design a bit more or less similar to the regular A-Class.
Considering the previous spy shots, the 2017 GLA class gets a raised driving height which gives the car an SUV like stance. Few reports suggest that new GLA will feature a smart infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a redesigned touchscreen.

2016 Mercedes GLA Front side profile
No confirmation on mechanical specs of the 2017 GLA facelift, however, it is expected to get the same configuration to that of the outgoing GLA model along with several tweaks in order to receive improved fuel mileage and power in some cases. Whereas the range-topping GLA class model, AMG GLA 45 is expected to come fitted with a 381 hp turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0-litre engine.
Mercedes-Benz considers Indian auto market a large opportunity to grow on and hence, in the previous year it launched 13 new models in the country. We can expect the 2017 GLA facelift in India soon after the global launch.
