2017 Skoda Octavia Facelift Spotted in India, Launch Soon

The Czech automaker is gearing up to bring the facelift update of Skoda Octavia in India for the model year of 2017. As a single unit of the latest model has been spotted testing near Aurangabad without any camouflage. And the spy shot clearly indicates that the India-spec 2017 Octavia will be mirror to what is on sale in several global markets in terms of appearance.

2017 Octavia facelift is one of the four launches, the Czech car maker planned for this year. We expect that it will go on sale in India later this year.

The 2017 model update to the Octavia was first revealed in October last year. The facelift trim was featured with a number of styling cues thorough inside out. Leveraging from spy shots, the major noteworthy update has been made to the front fascia of the premium sedan.

The car features the same revised front bumper with the new tweaked grille and split headlamps at the ends underlined by LED DRLs. The updates are also expanded to down the front end in form of larger air dams with the LED fog lamps mounted at the ends. While the exterior mirrors are slightly restyled, bonnet remains unchanged with the bold curves.

Well, the recent spy shot only reveals the front section, previous images suggest that overall profile remains identical to the outgoing model. The rear section as well continues to feature the same rectangular LED taillamps with chiselled trunk lid and sporty bumper with reflectors mounted on it. However, the 2017 Octavia will get a new set of alloy wheels.

Interior details on the 2017 Octavia are more or less unchanged with several minor tweaks. While the overall dashboard layout remains unchanged, the facelift version will get a revised center console with a larger infotainment system and some added controls.

In the global markets, the 2017 Skoda Octavia is being offered with two petrol and two diesel engine options. The petrol engines comprise of a 1.0-litre TSI which delivers a maximum power of 113bhp and a 1.4-litre TSI which produces 147 bhp of peak power.

The two diesel engines are a 113 bhp 1.6-litre TDI and a 147 bhp 2.0-litre TDI motor. On transmission, there is an option to choose either a 6-speed or a 7-speed automatic DSG along with a 6-speed manual one.
