The Czech Republican automaker, Skoda has finally introduced the 2017 Skoda Octavia Facelift in India in three different trim options- the Ambition, the Style and the Style Plus. The price for this facelift starts at INR 15,49,405(One Nation One Price). One of the top-selling models from Skoda house, the new Skoda Octavia will fight with the players such as the new Elantra and the Toyota Corolla Altis in this executive sedan segment.
As the new Skoda Octavia is an enhanced illustration of the outgoing one, so the changes which the sedan has got are majorly on the exterior front along with some new features insertion inside the cabin, that will offer a much cozier and convenient feel for the occupants.
Exterior-wise, the cars’ front fascia is pretty astonishing to hold your glimpse for a while with the embellished features such as new Quadra LED headlights with LED DRls, new Skoda signature grille, wider air intake, new fog lamps, etc. other than this, the attributes such as Alcatraz alloy wheels, tornado line, Skoda signature C-shaped LED taillamps, new rear design and electric sunroof are the points of attraction on this 2017 Octavia facelift which wearing a coupe-like silhouette.
Inside the cabin, the auto major has done a remarkable job by reviving the interior with new dark brushed interior decor, ambient LED lighting, enhanced elegance, and with new controls such as segment-first hands-free parking, larger 8-inch Amundsen navigation, seamless smart link connectivity, etc. The provided best in class 590L boot space along with hooks for holding bags will not let you think about your carrier.
Underneath the hood, the Skoda is offering three engine choices, two petrol, and one diesel. The petrol drivetrain includes a 1.4-litre TSI and a 1.8-litre TSI engines which spit out 147 PS and 180PS along with 250NM respectively. The offered gearbox option for these units is a 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission respectively. The engine is claimed to return the fuel economy of 16.7 and 15.1Kmpl respectively.
The next in queue, the 2.0 liter TDI engine is capable of generating maximum power of 143PS and peak torque of 320Nm with the mated 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is said to provide the mileage of 16.7 kmpl. All in all, the new Skoda Octavia is a complete package with power, performance and fuel economy.
If the electronic package of this upgrade Octavia is concerned, it got some high tech features such as hill hold control, ibuzz fatigue alert-first in the segment, multi-collision braking, best in class airbags, etc.
