2018 Mahindra XUV500 Spied Testing in India

The prominent automaker for producing rugged SUVs, Mahindra is likely to introduce the updated iteration of its XUV500 model in coming months. Also, the recently spied test mule while testing also hinting the same. The surfaced spy images of the model are confirming that the 2018 XUV500 will be tweaked model at the cosmetic end. As the test mule was blessed with the new-design alloy wheels, revised grille and front and rear bumpers.

Under the hood, we can expect the arrival of a new more powerful version of the current 2.2-litre diesel motor that has already hinted by the automaker’s reports. The returned powertrain of the XUV500 is probable to churn out the maximum power of 170hp.

Before the arrival of the model in question, the company has queued the XUV500 G9 petrol AT variant for launch that will be loaded with a new 2.2-litre motor beneath the front end. While the power transmission for this engine will be handled by a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Since 2011, the Mahindra XUV500 is serving its admirers and in 2015 the SUV has got major alterations to not only attract a wider range of audience but also to contribute more to the automaker’s revenue. With this new generation model packed with more powerful engine and refreshing looks, Mahindra is aiming to pose a fierce competition with the likes of new opponents such as the Renault Captur, the Jeep Compass and the Tata Hexa in the segment.
