2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift Spied, India Debut Expected at Auto Expo Next Year

Lately, the next generation model of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been seen performing testing runs on the Indian roads. Here in India, the model was introduced in 2014 and soon after its launch it became the brand’s highest sales generator in the C-segment sedan space. Later on, owing to the emergence of updated rivals trims and hiked taxes on its diesel variant in association with the mild hybrid system, the carmaker started registering dip in sales. So in order to make a comeback, the brand is looking forward for the 2018 Maruti Ciaz as expected from the spied upgraded test mule of the Ciaz.

From the images, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz seems to receive a host of changes through the car. Though, the inclusion of new alloy wheels and revised taillamp section are clear from the surfaced images. It is also being anticipated that the imminent Ciaz will be the same model showcased at the 2017 Chengdu Motor Show. At the skin, the model was embellished with the cosmetic bits such as noted two slat chrome front grille, redesigned front bumper, LED headlamps with DRLs and circular fog lamps. All in all, the 2018 Ciaz will be an upmarket model with number of premium features over the outgoing model in the market.

Inside the cabin, we can witness an all-black treatment with premium quality material, a panoramic sunroof and the the 7-inch touchscreen unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that are being offered across Maruti products in premium range. Besides, there could be several modifications to convey more premium and luxurious feel in terms of comfort and convenience by the carmaker. In the C-segment space, the new Ciaz will go in competition with the likes of lately revised Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, and the Volkswagen Vento.

What would be under the hood, it is not official and clear yet. Though, speculations are Maruti could replace the 1.3-litre diesel SHVS with its a 1.5-litre motor without any hybrid system that will help in bringing car in lower tax bracket to generate more revenue. The regular 1.4 litre petrol engine will continue to perform its duties with an improved state of tune.

The facelifted Ciaz is likely to present in front of Indian audience at the forthcoming 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. While, the launch is expected anytime in the first half of 2018.
