2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Spied In India While Testing

The updated variant of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been spied during testing in the country. This next-gen small family compact car has been in news for its construction in India. Somewhat like previously spotted test mule of this 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, this time again the car was covered with black colored camouflage to keep the exterior detailing of the car undercover. This new small family compact car is expected to unveil in India at the end of the year or can be hastened to appear soon in the first half of the year 2018. The chances to showcase the next-gen Ertiga as a pre-production model at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 are less.

The updated MPV will be lightweight, well equipped and firm. The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be using the similar Heartect design philosophy that explains the next-gen Swift hatchback and new-gen Dzire. Furthermore, we can notice this new MPV with the latest styling and extensive design updates. As speculated, the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be providing the same layout of 7-seater arrangements which is not the case in an ongoing model. It can also come with more spacious cabin arrangement and some more updated driving dynamics.

As the latest Ertiga variant is seen in camouflage only, it is not the right time to comment on the feature offerings of the car. Although some specs are clear from the spied images of new Ertiga including larger rear overhangs, a rear windshield wiper and a fresh pair of taillamps, we couldn't reach a conclusion yet. Apart from this, the speculated changes that the new MPV can take comprises LED daytime running lights, new grille and bumper, a reworked cabin, better safety & comfort features, stylish alloy wheels, new projector headlamps and a revised dashboard.

It is also expected that Maruti may continue the use of the 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine whereas the new 1.5-litre diesel engine is probably going to supersede the year-old 1.3-litre four-cylinder oil burner, as informed from the source. The engine of the car comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in respect of both the engine and further the company can offer the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) also.
