Ather Energy to Setup India’s largest EV Charging Network in Bangaluru by the End of 2018

Bengaluru based electric vehicle startup, Ather Energy that has showcased India’s first truly intelligent electric scooter, the S340 has revealed its intentions of setting up an electric vehicles charging network in the city. It will be the country largest charging network that is likely to start by the end of this year.

These charging points, which are known as AtherGrid will charge up both two and four wheelers. The company will install these smart app based charging units at places such as malls, cafes, restaurants, tech parks, multiplexes and gyms. Mentioned locations have already partnered with Ather Energy to place these charging points at free of cost.

Initially, the company has a target of setting up 30 charging stations by the end of May month. As company claims, these charging points will exceed by 90 with the installations of 60 more units by this year end.

Post installing charging points across the city, the distance for any charging station will be 4kms from any point. Furthermore, there a host of facilities which will be provided free of cost for next six months. Including navigate to the nearest charging stations, monitoring of charging status and easy payment via the app.

Apart from this, the launch of Ather S340, a fully electric two-wheeler in India, is part of company’s future plan. The features which will be on offer with Ather S340 includes a touch screen instrument console, onboard navigation, smartphone connectivity and more.
