Audi Unlatched its R8 e-tron Concept Model at CES Asia

Apart from the RS7 and S7, Audi has added one more product to the list of its self driving cars, which is known as the R8 e-tron. Recently, this pure all-electrical piloted driving car concept has come out of the wrappers at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) Asia that is going on in Shanghai. Alongside a lightweight body design, the sports car comprises stupendous features to render an astounding performance on the way. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) has been taken into use to make its rear profile as well as the luggage compartment has also been integrated, while its front end and side profile receives lighting solutions.

Beneath the skin, this concept model includes only an electric unit, including tremendous merit to pump out an astonishing power of 455 bhp. After getting accelerated from zero to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, the Audi R8 e-tron is expected to mark a quite impressive top speed of 250 km/h. The battery is based on the lithium ion technology, which is in T-shape and has been placed at its centre tunnel. The engineers have mainly designed this battery for the pure electric vehicles.

The Research and Development head of Audi, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, said, “The key message for our customers: Our efficiency technologies are ready for series production and customer roll-out. The same applies to our current flagship technology – piloted driving.”
