Bajaj to launch New Platina and V Variants for Festive Season

Bajaj Auto has affirmed that it will introduce new variants for two of its popular models, the new Platina and V for the impending festive season.The introduction of new trims will help the bike maker in gaining better sales in the coming months that had gone down from 20 percent to 16 percent this financial year. However, the month of August has been good for the Pune based manufacturer with a plunge in sales.

If the new variants are concerned, they will receive cosmetic updates in the form of new paint schemes to offer a refreshing look to the models. Currently available in a single trim, the Platina is on the brand’s top selling bikes. It is expected that the new Platina variant could be one with spoke wheels along with most affordable price sticker around INR 43,000 (ex-showroom).

Mechanically, the upcoming Platina will be powered by the same 102cc engine of the ES spoke variant. The engine is capable of mustering the maximum power of 8.2 bhp at 7,500 revolutions per minute along with a vertex torque of 8.6 Nm at 5,000 revolutions per minute. The power dispatch to the rear wheel will take place with the sport of a mated 4-speed gearbox.

The other model Bajaj V is currently having two variants of the motorcycle- the V12 and V15. it is also expected to get revived with new paint and design schemes. Powering duties will continue to be the same. The V15 comes loaded with a 149.5cc engine that is adequate enough in propelling out 12 bhp at 7,500 revolutions per minute against 12.7 Nm of torque at 5,500 revolutions per minute.

In terms of rivalry, the forthcoming Bajaj Platina will knock its horns with the likes of Hero passion Pro, Honda CD 110 Dream, etc. whereas, the new Bajaj V will go against the competitors such as Hero HF Deluxe, Honda CB Shine SP etc.
