Benelli Tornado 302R India Launch Postponed to March 2017

Benelli lovers, who were eagerly waiting for the first full fairing motorcycle from the Italian marque, the Tornado 302R since its first appearance at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, will have to wait some more. As the launch of this much-anticipated sports bike, which was earlier slated to take place in January 2017, has been postponed to March month this year.

The reason which is being considered behind the delay in the launch of the vehicle is the DSK Benelli did not get approval for its BS-IV compliant model until now. And, is likely to be approved in the next few weeks. As the stringent BS-IV emission norms are going to be affected in India from April 2017, every two-wheeler that will launch after 1 April 2017, should have to comply the approaching emission norms.

Derived from the naked TNT 300 sibling, the sports beast Tornado 302 is crafted on a new trellis frame along with furnished hardcore hardware components like stubby USD front forks and rear placed mono shock with preload adjustability, at suspension end. For braking, a 260mm dual discs up front and a single 240mm disc settlement, that are in integration with an improved safety feature of ABS.

Placed behind the full fairing, a 300cc, twin-cylinder engine promises the maximum power of 36PS at 10,000 rpm along with 27.4Nm of torque at 9,000rpm to accelerate the sports runner with the help of a mated 6-speed gearbox. The company claims, the Tornado 302R can easily attain a top speed of 170mph.

If the above-mentioned report is to be believed, the faired Tornado 302R will definately make it entry to the Indian market by the second half of March 2017. Post launch, in the market the sports tourer will rival against the likes of KTM RC 390, Yamaha YZF-R3, and the Kawasaki Ninja 300, with an aggressive price sticker.
