BKT Tires Launches Commuter Two Wheeler Tires in India

Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT), a Mumbai based tire manufacturer firm, which used to mass production of heavy duty and high performance specific segment tyres used in vehicles of earthmoving, agriculture, gardening and mining purposes. And now, with the introduction of BK Pilot and BK Raftar two wheeler tyres, giant forayed into the massive two wheeler Indian market. Meant for commuter motorcycles, BK Pilot frontal and BK Raftar rear tyres are available in different suitable sizes. The tyres have been launched in the presence of Bollywood actor and BKT’s brand ambassador Sunny Deol.

As the company claims, these presented flagship tires are a complete package to provide faster, comfortable and more secure ride on the commuters. The BK Pilot frontal tyre comes equipped with directional grooves for superior steering and wide shoulders for precise surface contact. While the rear tyre, BK Raftar received an aggressive design with rigid styling to provide high performance and stability onto the wet road surface.

Reason behind the BKT's entry in two wheeler segment is, the company wants to deliver highest quality commuter tyres to the remotest villages with rapid proliferation. Furthermore, it will also give the continuous business opportunities to its existing BKT dealers throughout the year in India. With this new category, known for its special segment tyres, 41th major tyre producer in the world would now be able to get recognition in the rural areas too, across the country.

Commenting on its two-wheeler segment foray, Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT Tires, said, “The two-wheeler tire industry has reported a compounded annual growth rate of 8.5%. Considering the tremendous potential of the market and its reach in rural India, we plan to introduce our flagship tires at sizes that permeate more than 70% of the total market scope. We also plan to introduce tires in other sizes to provide complete services to our buyers and gather at least a 10% market share of the Indian agricultural transportation market within the next few years.”
