BMW G 310 R India Launch Expected Soon

The most awaited entry level naked roadster from BMW Motorrad, the G 310 R is likely to hit the Indian market soon, as known from the sources close to the brand. Altogether, they also assured the arrival of the G 310 GS along with bike in question. For the first time, the G 310 R was showcased in front of the audience at the 2015 EICMA show, ever since a lot of enthusiasts have been patiently waiting for the motorcycle.

The price tag for the motorcycle could also be one of the major factors behind that much wait for the motorcycle. As the motorcycle’s manufacturing is the concern of Chennai based TVS Motors production facility that will help to keep bike’s pricing aggressive. However, the pricing that revealed from the sources is nearabout INR 3 lakh. Lately launched Apache RR310 that is a flagship product from BMW’s JV partner TVS is INR 1 lakh cheaper comparatively. While its more adventurous sibling the G 310 GS might carry the price tag dearer by 50K.

As evident, the BMW G 310 R is a naked streetfighter that draws design inspiration from its big brother, the BMW S1000R. Yet, its riding stance is not that aggressive as of the KTM RC390. It features wide handlebar and centre placed foot pegs that offer an adequate control and comfort on the bike.

On the other hand, the G 310 R’s adventurous sibling the G 310 GS is a prominent ADV tourer. It sports long travel suspension and 19-inch wheels. The styling is inspired by the bigger GS bikes. The bike’s major highlights include stubby front beak, radiator shrouds, headlamp cowl and tank design.

At the powertrain, both the motorcycles share similar 313cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, the mill is capable of generating the peak power of 35PS along with 28Nm torque.

Well, it’s pretty satisfying that wait is going to be end soon. However, the reported price tag could bring commotion among the admirers as it is comparatively higher than the fierce competitor in the segment, the KTM. But for the admirers, who know the BMW brand value in terms of provided quality and fit-finish level in their products would not mind paying extra for.
