BMW India Launches Petrol Version of X3 and X5 in India

The Indian-counterpart of the well known German automobile manufacturer BMW, has added two new variants in the range of its existing SUVs - X3 and X5. The BMW X3 xDrive28i is available at INR 54.90 lakh, while the X5 xDrive35i is priced at INR 73.50 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi). Instead of using CBU route like other petrol 3-series and 5-series, both the SUVs will be produced locally at BMW’s plant in Chennai. The SUVs are now available across all the dealership in the country with both petrol and diesel mills. The lately introduced petrol trims will take on the of the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Jaguar F-Pace, both recently come here in the country.

On the mechanical front, the new BMW X3 trim comes fitted with a 2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol guise which is making out  245 bhp of power with a torque of 350 Nm available between 1250-4800 rpm. Packed with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission, the engine can help the unit to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.5 seconds, which is similar to the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC.

The new BMW X5, on the other hand, is powered by a 3.0-litre inline, 6-cylinder petrol unit that is firing out 306 bhp of power and a peak torque of 400 Nm available between 1,200-5,000 rpm. The transmission duties on X5 SUV are carried out by 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission option. The SUV can easily do a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 6.5 seconds.

Some of the noteworthy features on the BMW X5 petrol variant are - adaptive LED headlights, heated wing mirrors with integrated LED indicators, a powered tailgate, and a 4-zone climate control, as well as features like high-end Surround Sound system, sourced from Harman Kardon, iDrive Touch with a 26 cm high-definition colour display and handwriting recognition, rearview camera, etc. On the other side, the BMW X3 petrol variant comes with LED fog lights, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a panorama glass roof, 2-zone climate control, iDrive Touch facility with 22.3 cms high-definition colour display among the others.

Both the SUVs house BMW EfficientDynamics that let the unit minimise fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions as well as help to enhance the dynamics and driving pleasure.
