BMW Motorrad Announces F800 R Street Fighter at the EICMA

BMW Motorrad has un-curtained the street fighter F800 R at the EICMA event. The bike has a got a good character in its 2nd avatar with commendable changes in the costume and DNA. The heavily equipped bike is forced with a new suspension system and pulled up looks factor.  The headlight is redesigned with a futuristic V shape design and it appears to be standing proudly over the two golden pillars which are actually the front suspension unit. The wide front tyre is racer inspired with a bulky unit crafted for the rear as well.

BMW Motorrad F800 R has a new profile which demonstrates the fuel tank to be puffed heavily with a new design of fairing. Colored in dual shades, the fairing goes audaciously over the popped out place to the rider’s knee position. Speed guidance can be fetched with the elliptically shaped dual meters placed one above other. They remind me of the cloud seen over the comic characters. The dirt styled silencer is mounted at a higher position and that too at the odd side.

The engine is a 798cc displacer with the caliber of churning out 90PS of power at 8,000RPM and 86Nm of torque at 5,800RPM. Braking potential can be acquired with the radially mounted dual disc brakes at the front and single unit disc at rear. Automatic Stability Control and Electronic Suspension Control with ABS find them standard on all variants. These features were also there in the S1000 XR launched at the same event. Either side Luggage boxes comes as a luxury utility accessory with the bike.
