Brexit Effect! British Luxury and SuperCars Price Slashed By INR 20 Lakh to over INR 1 Crore in India

With the Britain on its way to take an exit from the European Union, prices of the British manufactured ultra luxury cars and supercars have been reduced in India on a mass scale. The UK government’s decision on separation from the EU has downgraded its currency value which ultimately affected the exporting cost of British vehicles to India.

According to a report on The Economic Times, the UK-based Super Sports and ultra luxury car manufacturers like Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Bentley and Ferrari are offering discounts in the range of INR 20 lakh and over INR 1 crore due to the Brexit effect.

Thanks to the Brexit Referendum, the value of the British Pound has been decreased by about 20 percent against the Indian Rupee in less than a year. And the depreciated Pound value has made the exports of the UK-based high-end cars to India cheaper. 

The weaker pound has not only benefited the British carmakers but the other global companies that bill their imports to India in the British currency, such as Italian Super Sports car manufacturer, Ferrari. These car makers are offering a discount in the range of 5 to 15 percent on the high-end cars - the report further explained.

Below here are the old and new prices of exotic cars which have seen a heavy drop in pricing after the Brexit:
The price of Ferrari 488 mid-engined sports car has been dropped by INR 30 lakh and now available at INR 3.6 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Considering the price of Range Rover Sport, whose earlier cost was INR 1.35 crore, is now started from INR 1.04 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Range Rover Vogue trim level price has been slashed by INR 41 lakh and is now available at INR 1.56 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Land Rover Discovery Sport has now priced at INR 43.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), INR 4 lakh lower than before.
The Range Rover Evoque price has been cut by INR 3 lakh and now available at INR 45.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The high-end British exotics, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin too have seen heavy price cuts due to the same decreased Pound’s value. The price of Rolls-Royce Ghost has been decreased by INR 50 lakh and now priced at INR 4.75 crore. The Rolls-Royce Phantom has seen a hefty price drop of INR 1.0-1.2 crore and now can be availed in lieu thereof INR 7.8-8.0 crore.

“We are looking at a much stronger year for the overall supercar market, especially for completely built imports,” said Mr Sharad Kachalia, Director at Navnit Motors that sources Rolls-Royce and Ferrari cars in India.

On the other hand, the Bond Car, Aston Martin DB11 has now got cheaper by relatively modest price-drop of INR 21 lakh, now available at INR 4.06 crore.
