The Datsun Redi-GO has garnered more than 10,000 booking since May 1, 2016. The major booking has been taken from metropolitan cities in India. The carmaker is very positive about the success of this car in the Indian market. The redi-go is a compact car that is slated between redi-GO hatchback and compact crossover.
Commenting on the overwhelming moment,Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said, “The Datsun Redigo is bringing a lot of new energy and freshness to the entry-level segment. Its eye-catching design and best-in-class features are getting noticed as more and more customers choose to go with Redigo. We have started deliveries of redi-GOs this month to customers across the country and are delighted by the way Datsun redi-GO is being embraced by the younger generation in the country”, he added.
Datsun Redi-Go Launched in India at INR 2.38 Lakhs
Datsun revealed the model at the 2014 Auto Expo in concept prototype and launched the production model in quite similar design styling. It is based on the same CMF-A platform which can be seen on the Renault Kwid. Just like the kwid, the redi-GO is powered by a 800cc petrol motor that churns out 54bhp of maximum power and 72Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
