Deadlock Removed, Registration For New BS-III Compliant Models Starts In Delhi

Finally, Delhi transport department, which issued a ban on the registration of non BS-IV compliant new models by the 1 April 2016, in the National Capital Region has removed the deadlock and allow registration of these models, starting from today. It is absolutely a big relief for the prominent two-wheeler manufacturers of the country like Royal Enfield, Bajaj Auto and Suzuki, which were feeling so far from the one of the biggest Indian market and worried about its business for their recently launched flagship products like Royal Enfield Himalayan, Bajaj V15 and Suzuki Access 125. But it is also in the news that the deadlock has been removed temporarily not permanently, let's see what will happen in future, till then it is definitely a good news for the automakers.

That's the reason, Royal Enfield has launched its first purpose built adventure tourer, Himalayan in Delhi at the price tag of Rs. 1.73 lakh (on-road). Apart from Delhi, Himalayan has also been launched in six other cities- Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai. Built around a new half-duplex split cradle chassis, the RE Himalayan gets power from a newly developed 411 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which belted out the power of 24bhp at 6500 rpm and torque of 32Nm at 4500 rpm. The mill is coupled to five-speed transmission via chain drive. Suspension setup comprises 41mm telescopic front forks and monoshock with linkage at rear. While, braking done by 300mm disc with 2-piston caliper at front and 240mm disc with single piston caliper at rear.

Speaking about the RE Himalayan launch in Delhi after removing the deadlock, Mr Rudratej Singh, president, Royal Enfield said, “We are delighted to announce the availability of our latest motorcycle - Himalayan, in New Delhi.
