Did You Know: The Royal Enfield 350 Engine Powers Bhallaladeva's War Chariot

Bahubali 2- The Conclusion has turned up as one of the most successful movies in the Indian Cinema. The amazing storyline along with the energetic performances of hot star cast has even failed the air conditioners in the theatre to cool the climate. The movie has scored many points on the base of strong characterisation, beautiful locations and VFX induced war sequences, which has even stopped the blinking of viewer's eyes. Among all of the astonishing scenarios of the film, you must have noticed the evil Bhallaladeva’s war chariot with rotating blades, which used to slice down the enemies like vegetables. The chariot was actually powered by a Royal Enfield engine.

Surprised..!! The secret was revealed by Sabu Cyril himself, who was the production designer of Baahubali series. Cyril in an interview with Manorama Online said, “Bhallaladeva's chariot was built with a Royal Enfield engine as the centrepiece as that would give the chariot the required power and speed. We used this method in the first Baahubali film as well.”

Bloodthirsty Bhallaladeva’s unique designed killing machine used a set of revolving sharp blades at the front to clear out the battleground filled with enemies. Cyril also revealed that the killing machine also had a proper car steering and a driver. However, it is still unclear which engine model has been used for making the chariot, as the company currently offers 4-engine models in its range, which includes the 350 cc and 500 cc for the Classic and thunderbird model range, the 535 cc single-cylinder for the Continental-GT, and the brand new 441cc motor fixed in the Himalayan.

Looking at the easy availability, it seems like either the 350 or the 500 cc single-cylinder motor was used in the making of the chariot. The 350 cc motor of the Bahubali of motorcycles is capable of churning out 20 bhp of power and 28 NM of torque, while the 500 cc engine churns out 27.2 bhp of power and 41.3 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the simple engineering of RE engine is one more point of using it, which could also be fixed easily in case of any breakdown.
