Ducati Delivers First and Only Worth INR 1.12 Crore 1299 Superleggera in India

The eminent Italian manufacturer, Ducati which is well-known for its range of performance motorcycles across the globe, has launched its flagship product, the 1299 Superleggera in India early this year. It is a track-focused sports bike which is considered one of the most powerful and technically sound motorcycles on the earth. Here, it is priced at INR 1.12 Crore, (ex-showroom, Delhi) that makes it a most expensive motorcycle in the Indian biking industry.

For a reminisce, the 1299 Superleggera is a limited edition model and only the 500 units are manufactured worldwide. As expected, all of them have already been delivered and India’s first and only Superleggera has also been handed over to its owner.

Vikram Oberoi, who is a motorcycle enthusiast and passionate motorcyclist, is the honored owner of the country’s first and only 1299 Superleggera. Other than this, he is a regular at the Buddh International Circuit and the owner of multiple Ducati performance bikes including Ducati 1299 Panigale S, the Ducati 916, the Ducati 1098 and more.

The 1299 Superleggera is a special bike from Ducati and what makes it a unique creation from Italian marque? The features such as a carbon fibre monocoque, single-sided swingarm, rear subframe, fairing and carbon fibre wheels with aluminium hubs along with the top notch technological aspects made this sports tourer a special creation from Ducati. Notably, the 1299 Superleggera is the first ever produced bike with the use of carbon fibre components via Ducati.

Powered by a 1285cc Superquadro L-twin engine, the Superleggera weighs only 167kgs. As company claims, with this mill, the motorcycle use the whooping churn of 215 bhp and all the power breathes out with the help of equipped an all titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust. To control this monster, the bike maker nailed it with all essential electronic attributes include Ducati Traction Control Evo (DTC EVO), Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and the first ever used in any Ducati Superbike, the Ducati Power Launch (DPL). These fitments not only provide dynamic riding experience but also offer confidence to the rider even at the top speed.

Altogether, a newly calibrated Bosch Cornering ABS system ensures precise braking in moments. With the delivery of the bike, the owner also benefited with a track kit that includes Ducati performance components such as a racing screen, plate holder removal kit, mirror replacement plugs and a whole titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust among other accessories.
