EBR 1190SX has been displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 in collaboration with Hero Motocorp. The bike has been tested over the race tracks as the EBR 1190RX. The bike has been seen fully fared over there. The 1190SX is designed to suit the looks of a street bike, but surprisingly they didn’t alter the engine tuning. It is the same power-horse which once ran over the racetracks in the recent past.
Detached faring version of EBR 1190 has got the same power and genes. The changes to the bike are visual and as per the street bike’s comfort standard, like shifting the height of the handlebar and seating position. The bike gets a roaring power drawl of 186 BHP and 138 Nm of torque from its V-twin 1190cc engine. Calling it a street bike would be quite unfair for superbikes and hence EBR has termed this segment as “Superfighter”. One of the most interesting parts of this bike are the front disc brakes which are offset to the spokes of the wheel.
While un-faring the RX version to make it SX, the weight lost by the bike was around 5 pounds. The whole bike rests upon an aluminium twin-spar frame which is shared by both. Availability of colors in this bike would be Galactic Black, FrostBite White and Racing Red. The fuel tank capacity has also been doubled while no changes have been introduced to wheelbase and vehicle ends.
