EBR Bankruptcy Hold-up the Launching of HX250R in 2016

If you are a big fan of the Hero MotoCorp’s much-awaited sports motorcycle HX250R, then you should probably wait for some more time. The unexpected bankruptcy of EBR has delayed the launching of Hero MotoCorp’s HX250R, the Erik Buell Racing (EBR), who is a technical partner of Hero MotoCorp, has filed for the bankruptcy in previous months of the year after debts accumulated to Rs 125 crores. Now the company will be launching the motorcycle in the first quarter of 2016.

According to the reports, the development of HX250R is in its almost final stage of the completion and the first showcased at the Auto Expo in 2014 which was held in New Delhi. This project will continue in the Hero MotoCorp’s under construction R&D facility, which will be going to operate by the Christmas time. The manufacturing facility is located Neemrana, Rajasthan.

“Hero MotoCorp is always on a lookout for partners on the R&D and the technical assessment front. It is understood that the company is looking at external help to complete the pending crucial project (HX250R), this may take some time. Honda, on the other hand, which has its own 250cc model in the market, will get some lead time to boost its falling sales in that category,” as per the sources.

Have a look at its technical aspects; the Hero HX250R is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder and liquid cooled engine, which will be featured with a fuel injection technology to producing 31 BHP of power and 26 Nm of torque. The two switchable power modes, Economy and Power, will shuffle the power outputs in a well manner.
