First Bajaj-Triumph Motorcycle Will Rival Royal Enfield 750

As per the earlier reports, Bajaj Auto Limited and Triumph Motorcycle has inked pact in order to manufacture mid range motorcycles. The alliance will avail both the bike maker in expanding their markets internationally. Though, the Triumph branded mid range motorcycles production is expected at the Bajaj Auto’s Chakan based facility.

Now, a fresh report suggests that the development of first product under Bajaj-Triumph espousal has been commenced and the output of partnership will roll out only after 3 years. Other than this, the first product will be a 750cc motorcycle that will knock his horns with the rivals including Royal Enfield 750 and the Harley Davidson Street 750.

Manufactured at the Bajaj Auto's Chakan based facility, new Triumph range of motorcycles will be in the sub 800cc capacity. As a start, the Triumph will target the ASEAN and African markets. With this new partnership, the Bajaj Auto brand image and its low cost manufacturing expertise will add more emphasis on the 400cc to 800cc segment.

Globally, Triumph's engine range start from 675cc and the tie-up will help in scale down the capacity curve. In alliance, where Triumph Motorcycles will perform designing and engineering responsibilities of the bikes, Bajaj Auto will handle the sourcing and manufacturing process. The partnership is also eyeing at the 250-500cc segment.

Back in time, Triumph Motorcycles had showcased a 250cc at the 2013 EICMA Show in Milan. As believed, it could be English maker's joint venture result with Bajaj Auto. The partnership will offer liberty of trying hands in segment, they do not operate, with a lower cost. Bajaj Auto will be able to combat against the likes of Royal Enfield growing everyday both in domestic and international markets.
