All-New 140hp Force Gurkha Xtreme Brochure Leaked

Force Gurkha Xtreme is the new top spec-variant of the Gurkha. On road, it will compete with the likes of Mahindra Thar. The specifications of the Gurkha Xtreme are out with the brochure leak. Reportedly, the previous models fell behind Thar on a couple of parameters. However with a host of new updates, both in terms of safety and engine, it promises tough competition to the Thar this time around. Pre-bookings have already begun across major dealerships. Expect the Force Gurkha Xtreme to come with a slightly higher price tag than the previous model. Its on-road price could touch a whopping Rs 14 lakh. A high price tag indeed, but Force is assured of its growing fan base and expects great sales figures.

In line with the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP), the three-door off-roader will be available both in hardtop and soft-top options. While cosmetic changes on the outside are minimal, it is the inside which has been completely reworked. The 85hp, the 2.6-litre diesel engine has been retired and the Gurkha Xtreme will now be powered by Mercedes-Benz OM611-derived 2.2-litre diesel churning out 138hp at 3800 rpm and 321Nm at 1600-2400 rpm. The engine will further come mated to an all-new Mercedes-Benz G32 five-speed manual by a dual-mass flywheel. Furthermore, expect the engine to meet BS VI emission norms also.

Premium features on offer with the Gurkha Xtreme include airbags, seat belt reminders, ABS (anti-lock braking system). A multi-link upgraded suspension coupled with front and rear diff-locks promise better than ever driving experience. The reworked suspension makes ways for better departure and ramp breakover angles. The 205mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of 550mm means that you can be rest assured of a safer and a cozier ride on the all terrain Force Gurkha Xtreme. The Gurkha is 3992 mm long, 2055 mm tall, and 1790 mm wide. The fuel tank capacity has been enhanced by .5-litre and now it measures 63.5-litre.
