In order to increase the popularity of electric cars in India, Mahindra & Mahindra has showcased its new E-Verito along with a new M2 Electro Formula E racing car and MGP30 racing bike at the Delhi Auto Expo. Now, Mr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director of the company has attended a meeting with half a dozen Union Minister to introduce the Formula E Championship In India. The result of this meeting came out positive and FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) which is also known for organizing Formula 1 Races, authorised the plan for Formula E Racing to come in the country via Mahindra.

He also added, "The meeting on Formula E was attended by six senior ministers—Suresh Prabhu (railways), Ravi Shankar Prasad (communication and IT), Ashok Gajapathi Raju (civil aviation), Nitin Gadkari (road, transport and highways), Prakash Javadekar (minister of state for environment) and Rajiv Pratap Rudy (minister of state for skill development). It will also promote people’s awareness and understanding about electric vehicles."

If we talk about the benefits of this new Formula E Racing car, that is basically to spread awareness about electric vehicles in the Indian automobile market. Moreover, the electric cars are also important from the view point of rising pollution because of which, the Government has implemented Delhi's odd-even rule exempting the hybrid and all electric vehicles. With this new racing plan, the market is supposed to welcome more electric models in the country that would control the giant issue of pollution.

Mr. Goenka also added, “This is the kind of a race that happens on the streets and not in circuits. Therefore, one day, in the heart of a town, main roads will have to be blocked. That may create some inconvenience to the public but the at same time it showcases the country to global audiences.”

As for now, urban electric hatch car E20 from Mahindra runs in the car market and recently company has also showcased a new electric car, named as E-Verito at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
